Social Media

When looking at Dolce and Gabbana's Facebook they do try to promote their products. Below on the screenshots they have links to trainers they are selling, videos of their latest campaigns and also models wearing their latest pieces. They do post some of the same images on the Facebook to their Instagram. They are quite active on Facebook which for some brands is unusual as Facebook has become less popular when it comes to comparing it to all its social media competitors.

Even though they are very active on their Instagram they don't promote their products well as they don't give links to where consumers could fine them. They do post Instagram stories of celebrities wearing their clothes which I do think draws people in as if they are a fan of someone who wears D&G then they will want to follow what they do as it will be someone they aspire to be like. They also post Instagram stories of their fashion shows and behind the scenes of their campaigns. Giving an insight to those who follow them making consumers feel more involved and have a better understanding of D&G as a brand. In their bio on Instagram they have a link to an apology video of the pair apologizing for their racist ad released in China. By them putting it in their bio they are trying to persuade everyone who goes onto their page that they are sorry trying to stop anymore bad comments that are to carry on coming.

Looking at their Twitter they post a lot of similar things to their other platforms. However it isn't as informative compared to their Facebook. They also don't promote and influence their audience as well as they do on other platforms. They tweet about their fashion shows and images of their products. Using the same captions as they do on their Instagram.

It appears that Facebook is where they promote most of their products and use Twitter and Instagram to show their brand image.
