Primary Research-Second Survey
Second Survey
I decided to do another survey to try and see how people felt about online shopping and also looking more into how people felt about Dolce and Gabbana's ethics when telling them a bit more about some issues.
For the first question I asked do you prefer shopping online or in store. The results showed 41.18% said online and 58.82% in store. Even though it is presumed online shopping is slowly taking over there is still more people who prefer to shop in store. I did ask a variation of people age wise, typically older people prefer to go into store as they don't use technology as often. People could also prefer to go into store to have the experience but also to guarantee that the product they are buying fits and is high quality.
For the second question I asked when shopping at luxury brands, would you rather shop in store or online. 82.35% they would shop in store, leaving only 17.65% that said online. As the pricing is a lot higher this makes people want to ensure they are buying pieces that are worth the money and to make sure the products fit correctly. As Dolce and Gabbana is not that affordable for many people; when buying people want to be sure that the product is perfect and exactly what they want before spending such a large amount of money on an item of clothing.
On the third question I asked Dolce and Gabbana have previously been accused of animal cruelty. Does this influence your opinion on them. 88.24% said yes, that it does influence their opinion of the brand. Leaving 11.76% saying no. This proves a lot more people do care about animal cruelty however, this doesn't prove whether they would carry on to shop at the brand or not. I think a lot of people do care however don't care enough to boycott the brand or stand against it.
On question 4 I asked Dolce and Gabbana have been accused of being racist, sexist and homophobic. Would this stop you from shopping there. 88.24% said yes which is majority of people. This is a positive outcome for this question as it shows people do care enough about these issues to boycott a brand to stand up for what they believe is right. This left 11.76% saying no which is a very small percentage which still makes this question successful.
For question 5 I asked, Stefano Gabbana stated "I don't want a Japanese designer to design for D&G". Does this make you have a negative opinion of D&G. This question again was quite successful as 82.35% said yes leaving only 17.65% saying no. I think this proves that within society developments are being made however, we're not fully their yet as not everyone said yes on this question. As some might not shop at the brand anyway this could be another reason for them saying no as it doesn't effect them now as they aren't supporting the brand as it is because of the pricing.
