Glamour released an article selling a dress from one of their fashion shows for $49000. Six of the same dress were up for sale. As the dress is known from the runway and only six of them were being sold this makes consumers want to be known for having one of the six dresses that were being sold. The price of this dress is a lot more than the average price on their website. In the article it states "At this point, you may be wondering: Is this dress dripping in diamonds? Does it contain some kind of precious stones that drive the price up? Apparently, it's the exclusivity that is partially to blame for that astronomic price tag." The dress is obviously a luxury piece however the price is not something seen on Dolce and Gabbana's website. The dress typically would be worn by an A Lister because of the pricing or someone elite. The price Dolce and Gabbana are asking for this dress creates assumptions that they do have consumers who would happily pay this price otherwise they wouldn't have set it at such an extraordinary price; showing the kind of consumers D&G have and the budget they are willing to spend on such items.
