-Dolce and Gabbana claim hackers wrote the offensive comments about the model using chopsticks to eat pizza.
-Dolce & Gabbana has postponed a catwalk show in Shanghai after an outcry over racially offensive posts on its Instagram account that the fashion brand has claimed were written by hackers.
- The video was taken down with in 24 hours but it had already been shared widely on social media.
- In a subsequent statement on Instagram, the company claimed: “Our Instagram account has been hacked. So has the account of Stefano Gabbana. Our legal office is urgently investigating,” and apologised for “any distress caused by these unauthorized posts, comments and direct messages”.
- It added: “We have nothing but respect for China and the people of China.”
- Some of China’s biggest celebrities had been billed to attend the catwalk show, but on Wednesday many announced their withdrawal.

- In April of 2018 Stefano Gabbana told with Reuters that "I don't want a Japanese designer to design for Dolce and Gabbana" regarding succession plans for the brand, prompting accusations of racism on the part of the label. The company has yet to respond.
- That following September, the brand’s Spring 2013 collection was criticized for its inclusion of Blackamoor imagery — racially charged imagery of that is based on caricatures of the black body. Included as prints on dresses as well as earrings, the depictions were described as “elements of traditional silician culture” by the label.
