In this article it states "the fashion duo recently denounced the artificiality of LGBTQ families, a stance that drew outrage all around the world". This then led to Elton John and Ricky Martin the #BoycottDolceandGabbana protest on Twitter which then blew up.

-In the interview, they expressed opposition to adoption and espoused negative views of “nontraditional families.” Dolce claimed there is a sharp division between children who are the product of “an act of love” and were “born to a mother and a father” and gay couples’ children, who are “children of chemistry, synthetic children. [Products of] uteri [for] rent, semen chosen from a catalog.”

-There is one thing that money can’t buy for Dolce and Gabbana, though: an exemption from the belief that it is impossible to have a “normal family” in Italy if you happen to have been born gay. In 2005, Dolce told Vanity Fair: “Yes, of course I would like to have a child. However … I have the small problem of being gay. Having a child is not possible, and I have come to terms with that.” This sense that being gay limits what is possible came up again in this week’s Panoramainterview, where he says, “I am gay, I can’t have a child. I guess you cannot have everything in life. Sometimes it is beautiful to be deprived of something. Life has a natural course, some things cannot be changed. One is the family.”

This is Elton Johns reaction to what Dolce and Gabbana said about the brand. As shown the hashtag started and was influencing all followers to boycott D&G. Effecting Dolce and Gabbana massively as it pushes away such a big part of their demographic away.

This is a tweet from Ricky Martin also replying to the brand. Using the same hashtag, effecting more followers opinions on the luxury brand and creating a negative representation of the brand.

Although Victoria Beckham's tweet does not support the hashtag she is however supporting Elton John with IVF even though she has previously shopped at the brand. By such elite and A List celebrities supporting this it will effect D&'s consumer base dramatically.
