Proposed Consumer Demographics

Proposed Consumer Demographics

For my proposed consumer demographic mood board I wanted to include things that would draw in more consumers and create a wider target market for the brand. As D&G have been accused of being racist, sexist and homophobic; if they didn't do these things it would bring in more people. As I used Elton Johns statement that he put out after a comment D&G made about IVF; this is an example of something that will turn consumers away. As they don't have a plus size I thought if they created a plus size range it would bring in that side of the market. As D&G have got the E label for sustainability which is the lowest grade, if they improved their sustainability standard and became more environmentally friendly this could encourage more people to be interested in the brand. Versace created a range called versus which sells their products but at a cheaper price, this again would draw in more consumers as it would be more affordable for more people. Stella McCartney and Kate Spade are very sustainable brand which I think D&G should aspire to be like. I included one of their ad campaigns which is very sexist, this would turn away a lot of women when looking at this brand as women empowerment is a very popular topic in today's society. I used a tweet that states someone wouldst shop at D&G because they have been racist which is turning customers away. The 'she is so ugly' comment was said by D&G about Selena Gomez which instantly turns consumers away as fans of Selena Gomez will not want to support the brand. D&G do test on animals which more designer brands are stopping which leaves consumers turning to those brands that don't test on animals which suggests D&G should follow the trend to encourage more consumers. I used a diversity sign which is the multicolored hands as if D&G supported equality more people would accept shopping at the brand. If D&G did become more accepting, made these changes and weren't politically incorrect it would welcome in a lot more consumers.
